2 | AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 5108 on page 7, | ||||||
3 | immediately below line 8, by inserting the following:

4 | "Section 5. The Business Enterprise for Minorities, Women, | ||||||
5 | and Persons with
Disabilities Act is amended by adding Section | ||||||
6 | 8m as follows: | ||||||
7 | (30 ILCS 575/8m new) | ||||||
8 | Sec. 8m. Information technology vendors. Notwithstanding | ||||||
9 | any provision of law to the contrary, the chief procurement | ||||||
10 | officer for
information technology and information technology | ||||||
11 | functions as appointed under the Illinois Procurement Code | ||||||
12 | shall have the authority to purchase goods and services | ||||||
13 | directly from vendors certified by the Business Enterprise | ||||||
14 | Program. For contracts entered into by the chief procurement | ||||||
15 | officer for
information technology and information technology | ||||||
16 | functions, at least 20% of the total dollar amount of such |

| |||||||
1 | contracts shall be awarded to prime vendors who have been | ||||||
2 | certified by the Business Enterprise Program. At least 20% of | ||||||
3 | the total dollar amount of subcontracts awarded by prime | ||||||
4 | vendors awarded contracts under this Section shall be awarded | ||||||
5 | to subcontractors who have been certified by the Business | ||||||
6 | Enterprise Program. ".
