Amends the Illinois Vehicle Code. Provides that a person who, while operating a snowplow on a State or local street, road or highway, hits a publicly owned or privately owned mailbox as a result of the person's acts or omissions shall be issued a citation on the person's driving record. Provides that a person issued a citation may respond to the citation in person or by any method allowed by law.

| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

| 4 | | Section 5. The Illinois Vehicle Code is amended by adding |
| 5 | | Section 11-1433 as follows:

| 7 | | Sec. 11-1433. Citation for hitting a mailbox with a |
| 8 | | snowplow.
A person who, while operating a snowplow on a State |
| 9 | | or local street, road or highway, hits a publicly owned or |
| 10 | | privately owned mailbox as a result of the person's acts or |
| 11 | | omissions shall be issued a citation on the person's driving |
| 12 | | record. A person issued a citation under this Section may |
| 13 | | respond to the citation in person or by any method allowed by |
| 14 | | law.
