| 2 | | WHEREAS, It is important to remember and honor the service |
| 3 | | of those who gave the
ultimate sacrifice in the defense of the |
| 4 | | United States of America; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, U.S. Army Specialist Wesley R. Wells was born in |
| 6 | | Libertyville on October 24, 1982; he was a lifelong resident |
| 7 | | of Libertyville and attended Libertyville High School; and
|
| 8 | | WHEREAS, After high school, SPC Wells enlisted in the |
| 9 | | United
States Army; he was stationed at Schofield Barracks in |
| 10 | | Honolulu, Hawaii; and
|
| 11 | | WHEREAS, In April of 2004, SPC Wells was deployed to |
| 12 | | Afghanistan to
conduct combat operations with the 2nd |
| 13 | | Battalion, 27th Infantry; and
|
| 14 | | WHEREAS, On September 20, 2004, SPC Wells was killed in |
| 15 | | action in Paktika,
Afghanistan; and
|
| 16 | | WHEREAS, SPC Wells was extremely proud of his career and |
| 17 | | accomplishments in the military; for his service, he was |
| 18 | | awarded the Bronze Star, the Purple Heart,
the Combat |
| 19 | | Infantryman Medal, the Army Good Conduct Medal, the Army |
| 20 | | Service Ribbons, the Global War on
Terrorism Service Medal, |
