| 2 | | WHEREAS, It is highly fitting that the Illinois General |
| 3 | | Assembly pays honor and respect to individuals who have given |
| 4 | | their lives in service to their communities; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, The Illinois State Police has proudly served the |
| 6 | | citizens of Illinois since 1922, and its dedication to public |
| 7 | | safety has saved countless lives and enriched the State of |
| 8 | | Illinois; and
|
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Illinois State Police Trooper Glenn Gagnon was |
| 10 | | killed in an automobile accident while pursuing a car that had |
| 11 | | passed his patrol car at 80 mph on Route 54 near Kankakee; and |
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Trooper Gagnon was born to Mr. and Mrs. David |
| 13 | | Gagnon in Clifton, Illinois on October 14, 1924, and he had one |
| 14 | | brother and one sister; and
|
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Trooper Gagnon was a student in the Clifton |
| 16 | | school district, graduating from Clifton High School, and he |
| 17 | | served in the United States Navy in World War II and was |
| 18 | | married to Ramona Hustedt; and
|
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Trooper Gagnon had served with the Illinois State |
| 20 | | Police for six years and was assigned to District 6; and
