HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate  the administrators and 
4employees of Oak-Leyden Developmental Services on the occasion 
5of the organization's 65th anniversary in 2021; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, Oak-Leyden Developmental Services was founded in 
71956 by concerned families who joined to form the Oak 
8Community School in Oak Park; the organization was created to 
9teach young adults with developmental disabilities the skills 
10they would need to live as independently as possible within 
11home and community settings; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Over the years, the Oak Community School has 
13grown to include a wide range of vocational and residential 
14services for adults and therapy, education, and family support 
15for infants and young children with developmental 
16disabilities; and
  
 

  
17    WHEREAS, The administrators and employees of Oak-Leyden 
18Developmental Services serve as models of hard work, 
19integrity, and dedication for the people of the State of 
20Illinois; therefore, be it
  
 
21    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE

1HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
2we congratulate the administrators and employees of Oak-Leyden 
3Developmental Services on the occasion of the organization's 
465th anniversary and wish them continued success and happiness 
5in the future; and be it further
  
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
7presented to Oak-Leyden Developmental Services as a symbol of 
8our esteem and respect.
