HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate the William Fremd High 
4School girls basketball team, the Vikings, of Palatine on the 
5team's unbelievable season; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, In March of 2020, the Vikings closed their 
7amazing 30-7 season with their first ever 4A state 
8championship in program history; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, The Vikings took their incredible run  into the 
10postseason with some big wins; they beat Lake Park in the 
11semi-finals with a score of 46-37; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, In the super-sectional game, the Vikings found 
13themselves playing against the defending state champions, 
14Maine-West; they beat the defending champs by a score of 
1557-49; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, In the state final game, the Vikings were set to 
17play against Lincoln-Way West; this match-up did not deter the 
18Vikings; led by their First-team All-State guard Emily 
19Klaczek, who garnered 20 points and 9 rebounds, the Vikings 
20secured their first state title with a score of 58-47;

1    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
2HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
3we congratulate the William Fremd High School girls basketball 
4team, the Vikings, and the entire girls basketball program at 
5Fremd High School for their successful season; and be it 
6further
  
 
7    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
8presented to the Fremd High School girls basketball team, the 
9Vikings, as an expression of our respect and esteem for their 
10hard work.
