| 1 | HOUSE RESOLUTION

| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives wish to congratulate Burdi Motorworks on 30 | ||||||
| 4 | years of providing quality services for Mercedes-Benz drivers | ||||||
| 5 | in the Schiller Park and Chicagoland areas; and
| ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, Carmine A. Burdi's career started in 1969 with | ||||||
| 7 | training and an apprenticeship at a Mercedes-Benz dealership | ||||||
| 8 | located near Ulm, Germany; and | ||||||
| 9 | WHEREAS, Carmine Burdi moved from Italy to the United | ||||||
| 10 | States in 1971; he worked for Chicagoland Mercedes-Benz | ||||||
| 11 | dealerships as a technician; in 1991, he made the decision to | ||||||
| 12 | open full time at his current location; and | ||||||
| 13 | WHEREAS, Carmine Burdi's sons, Carmine and Vince, continue | ||||||
| 14 | his work by running the family business; Carmine works as the | ||||||
| 15 | shop service manager, and Vince works in managing the auto | ||||||
| 16 | body shop; their father ensures they "stay on top of things"; | ||||||
| 17 | and | ||||||
| 18 | WHEREAS, The team at Burdi Motorworks offers a menu of | ||||||
| 19 | options for Mercedes-Benz vehicles, including inspections, | ||||||
| 20 | specialty services for antique vehicles, fleet vehicle | ||||||
| 21 | service, and more; and | ||||||

| 1 | WHEREAS, Burdi Motorworks is located near O'Hare Airport | ||||||
| 2 | and rail stops and offers shuttle service to nearby | ||||||
| 3 | transportation centers; and
| ||||||
| 4 | WHEREAS, The team at Burdi Motorworks shares their | ||||||
| 5 | knowledge to help maintain Mercedes-Benz vehicles through a | ||||||
| 6 | Technician Blog, which provides advice on topics ranging from | ||||||
| 7 | how to change the battery to how to improve gas mileage; and
| ||||||
| 8 | WHEREAS, A family business committed to its craft, Burdi | ||||||
| 9 | Motorworks is a valued business in the Schiller Park | ||||||
| 10 | community, helping keep the important purchase of a | ||||||
| 11 | Mercedes-Benz vehicle safe and sustainable; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 12 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
| 13 | HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 14 | we congratulate Burdi Motorworks on 30 years of providing | ||||||
| 15 | quality services for Mercedes-Benz drivers in the Schiller | ||||||
| 16 | Park and Chicagoland areas; and be it further
| ||||||
| 17 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 18 | provided to Carmine A. Burdi, Carmine Burdi, Vince Burdi, and | ||||||
| 19 | their family to congratulate them on this remarkable | ||||||
| 20 | achievement.
