| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 | | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Charles |
| 4 | | D. "Chuck" Mockbee III of Danville, who passed away on |
| 5 | | February 23, 2021; and
|
| 6 | | WHEREAS, Chuck Mockbee was born on February 6, 1947 and |
| 7 | | was a lifetime resident of Vermilion County; he graduated from |
| 8 | | Bismarck-Henning High School; he earned his Bachelor of |
| 9 | | Science in Business from Northern Illinois University and his |
| 10 | | Juris Doctor from John Marshall Law School; he became a member |
| 11 | | of the Illinois Bar in 1975; and
|
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Chuck Mockbee worked as an incorporating attorney |
| 13 | | and legal counsel to numerous governmental entities; and
|
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Chuck Mockbee represented District 2 on the |
| 15 | | Vermilion County Board; he served as Blount township assessor |
| 16 | | and as a precinct committeeman; he previously served as a |
| 17 | | member of the Bismarck-Henning School Board for four terms, |
| 18 | | where he was a past president; and
|
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Chuck Mockbee belonged to a number of |
| 20 | | professional organizations, including the Vermilion County Bar |
| 21 | | Association as a member and past president, the Illinois State |
|

| 1 | | Bar Association, and the Attorneys' Title Guaranty Fund as a |
| 2 | | member and agent; and
|
| 3 | | WHEREAS, Chuck Mockbee attended CrossRoads Christian |
| 4 | | Church in Danville; he was a member and past president of the |
| 5 | | Bismarck Lions Club, and he enjoyed attending Lions Club |
| 6 | | breakfasts and dinners; he enjoyed reading history, including |
| 7 | | his genealogy, and watching University of Illinois sports; and
|
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Chuck Mockbee was known for always being ready to |
| 9 | | assist with community activities; he will be remembered as a |
| 10 | | very giving, caring, and respected man who loved his family |
| 11 | | and community; he will be missed; and
|
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Chuck Mockbee is survived by his wife, Peggy; his |
| 13 | | sons, Eric (Becky), Charles IV (Rebecca), and Matthew (Lacy) |
| 14 | | Mockbee; his grandsons, Connor, Colton, Jonah, and Matson; his |
| 15 | | brother, Ronald (Janet) Mockbee; and his sisters, Gloria |
| 16 | | Crippin and Janice Mockbee; therefore, be it
|
| 17 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE |
| 18 | | HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
| 19 | | we mourn the passing of Charles D. "Chuck" Mockbee III and |
| 20 | | extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all |
| 21 | | who knew and loved him; and be it further
