HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate John Stanczykiewicz on 
4his 400th win as the Head Coach of the Warren Township High 
5School Girls Varsity Basketball Team; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, John Stanczykiewicz has coached high school 
7basketball for 36 years, 22 years as the head varsity coach; he 
8has six North Suburban Conference championships
 and eight 
9regional titles; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, John Stanczykiewicz led Warren Township High 
11School to the Elite Eight in 2005, its furthest state 
12tournament advancement in program history; over 25 of his 
13players have continued to play in college, and he has coached 
14two athletes who became Olympians; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, John Stanczykiewicz was inducted in the Illinois 
16Coaches Hall of Fame in 2020; and
  
 
17    WHEREAS, John Stanczykiewicz's first coaching job was in 
18his church league, coaching grade schoolers; he kept working 
19basketball camps and coaching grammar school and church league 
20teams, and, then when he graduated from DePaul University, he 
21did his student-teaching at Gordon Tech; and

1    WHEREAS, John Stanczykiewicz has a deep love for the game 
2of basketball; therefore, be it
  
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
4HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
5we congratulate John Stanczykiewicz on his 400th win as the 
6Head Coach of the Warren Township High School Girls Varsity 
7Basketball Team; and be it further
  
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
9presented to John Stanczykiewicz as a symbol of our respect 
10and esteem.
