HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Dave Seiffert; and

WHEREAS, Dave Seiffert was a graduate of Deerfield High School and Western Illinois University; and

WHEREAS, Dave Seiffert was the son of Waltraut and Raymond Seiffert and the brother of Raymond and Sandra Seiffert; he was the loving father of Grace and Luke Seiffert, whom he raised with their mother, Elizabeth Seiffert; and

WHEREAS, Dave Seiffert worked for Hudsonville Creamery and Ice Cream and then for Vitner's Snack King; he would often bring home ice cream and potato chips; and

WHEREAS, Dave Seiffert served as a member on the Palatine Township School District 15 board and volunteered as chairman for the Palatine Township District 15 Educational Foundation; and

WHEREAS, Dave Seiffert was passionate about local school sports and the community at large; he would find creative ways to support local causes, including emceeing dinners and helping with "Chuck-A-Duck" fundraisers during basketball games; and

WHEREAS, Dave Seiffert's legacy of support for community programs has been carried on by his surviving family, who have started a fundraiser in his name to benefit the baseball, softball, and basketball programs of Palatine High School; and

WHEREAS, Dave Seiffert brought joy to everyone with his big laugh, booming voice, bad dad jokes, and generous spirit; he truly made friends wherever he went; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Dave Seiffert and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Dave Seiffert as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
