HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, There are thousands of Pet Partners therapy 
3animal teams serving in communities across the United States; 
4and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Pet Partners has designated April 30 as National 
6Therapy Animal Day; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, Pet Partners therapy animal teams in Illinois 
8play an essential role in improving human health and 
9well-being through the human-animal bond; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, Pet Partners therapy animal teams make millions 
11of visits per year in settings such as
hospitals, nursing 
12homes, schools and hospice; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, Pet Partners therapy animal teams interact with a 
14variety of people in Illinois, including
veterans, seniors, 
15patients, students facing literacy challenges, and those 
16approaching the end of life; and
  
 
17    WHEREAS, These exceptional therapy animals who partner 
18with their human companions bring comfort and healing to those 
19in need; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
2HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
3we declare April 30, 2021 to be Therapy Animal Day in the State 
4of Illinois; and be it further
  
 
5    RESOLVED, That members of the Illinois House publicly 
6salute the service of therapy animal teams in
Illinois and 
7across the nation, and  we encourage all Illinoisans to 
8celebrate therapy animals and their human handlers.
