| 1 | | HOUSE RESOLUTION

| 2 | | WHEREAS, The Illinois Migrant Council, in partnership with |
| 3 | | Community Health Partnership and First Street Renaissance, has |
| 4 | | been holding pop up vaccine clinics throughout the State |
| 5 | | through the Equity Distribution Division of the Illinois |
| 6 | | Department of Public Health; and
|
| 7 | | WHEREAS, The Illinois Migrant Council has vaccinated |
| 8 | | approximately 20,000 people, mostly from the Latinx community; |
| 9 | | it has vaccinated many seniors, people with disabilities, |
| 10 | | essential workers from lower income brackets, and people who |
| 11 | | lack technology or other ways to access appointments; and
|
| 12 | | WHEREAS, The Illinois Migrant Council clinics are unique |
| 13 | | and provide a friendly, family-oriented atmosphere; many |
| 14 | | attendees come with their children or in multi-generational |
| 15 | | families and share their gratitude, relief, and joy after |
| 16 | | receiving their shots; and
|
| 17 | | WHEREAS, The Illinois Migrant Council team provides the |
| 18 | | dignity, compassion, and cultural competence that leads to |
| 19 | | people feeling safe, valued, and respected, and is making a |
| 20 | | difference with heroic leadership in the fight to get everyone |
| 21 | | in our great State vaccinated; and |
