| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 | | Representatives wish to congratulate Felix Pasteris on the |
| 4 | | occasion of his 100th birthday; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Felix Pasteris was born Felice Leach Pasteris to |
| 6 | | Andrew and Oselina Pasteris, immigrants from Villa Regia in |
| 7 | | Northern Italy, on June 11, 1921; he later changed his first |
| 8 | | name to Felix; he graduated from Joliet High School; he served |
| 9 | | in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II; he attended the |
| 10 | | University of Illinois; he married Helen Hanis, and they were |
| 11 | | together for 70 happy years; he is a lifelong resident of |
| 12 | | Joliet; and
|
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Felix Pasteris has achieved a number of things |
| 14 | | during his long life, but one of his greatest accomplishments |
| 15 | | was serving in the U.S. Army Air Forces during World War II; he |
| 16 | | was the crew chief of the famous P38 plane "Shoot, You're |
| 17 | | Faded", and he traveled to Europe, Africa, and the |
| 18 | | Philippines; for his service, he was awarded a Bronze Star |
| 19 | | Medal, three Presidential Medals, a Distinguished Badge, Good |
| 20 | | Conduct, and two Silver Star Bars; and
|
| 21 | | WHEREAS, Felix Pasteris survived COVID-19 earlier this |
| 22 | | year, thanks in part to receiving his first dose of the vaccine |
