HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, Safety is the highest priority for the highways 
3and streets of our townships and State; and
  
 
4    WHEREAS, Illinois is proud to be a national leader in 
5motorcycle safety, education,
and awareness; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, Motorcycles are a common and economical means of 
7transportation that reduces fuel
consumption and road wear and 
8contributes in a significant way to the relief of traffic and 
9parking
congestion; and
 
10    WHEREAS, It is important that motorists be aware of 
11motorcycles on the roadways and recognize the
importance of 
12motorcycle safety; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, All motorcyclists should actively promote the 
14safe operation of motorcycles as well as
promoting motorcycle 
15safety, education, awareness, and respect; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, The motorcyclists of Illinois have contributed 
17extensive volunteerism and money to national
and community 
18charitable organizations; and
  
 
19    WHEREAS, All roadway users should unite in the safe

throughout Illinois; therefore, be it
  
 
2    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
3HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
4we declare May of 2021 as
Motorcycle Awareness Month and urge 
5all motorists to join in an effort to improve safety and

6awareness on our roadways.
