HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to recognize the National Veterans Art 
4Museum on the occasion of its 40th anniversary; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, The National Veterans Art Museum has served as a 
6space for veterans, military personnel, and civilians to have 
7a dialogue on the impact of war since 1981; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, The National Veterans Art Museum is based in 
9Chicago and holds an extensive collection of over 2,500 works, 
10with pieces regularly on display in special exhibitions around 
11the world; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, The National Veterans Art Museum showcases 
13artwork created by veterans, providing a unique perspective on 
14their experiences in war, military conflicts, and peacekeeping 
15missions; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, The National Veterans Art Museum helps to serve 
17as an artistic outlet for veterans as they process their 
18physical and emotional experiences from their military 
19service; and
  
 
20    WHEREAS, The National Veterans Art Museum serves an

1important role in challenging audiences to reflect on the 
2consequences and impact of war on our society and nation; 
3therefore, be it
  
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
5HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
6we recognize the National Veterans Art Museum on its 40th 
7anniversary, thank the museum for its work, and wish it many 
8more successful years; and be it further
  
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
10presented to the National Veterans Art Museum as an expression 
11of our esteem and respect.
