HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate Palermo Bakery and its 
4owners on the occasion of their 20th anniversary; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, In 2001, Joe and Paula Greco, along with Paula's 
6brother Loretto, purchased Palermo Bakery, planning  to deliver 
7authentic Sicilian baked goods to the Chicagoland area; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, Palermo Bakery is inspired by the town of 
9Altavilla Milicia on the north coast of Sicily in the province 
10of Palermo, the place from which Joe Greco inherited the 
11tradition of baking from his grandfather; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Palermo Bakery quickly developed a reputation for 
13providing the finest Sicilian pastry making, as well as for 
14bringing a genuine Sicilian atmosphere to the community; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, Palermo Bakery's success led to expansion and the 
16relocation to Norridge in 2014, where its cookies, pastries, 
17cakes, and other baked goods continue to be made by scratch; 
18and
  
 
19    WHEREAS, Palermo Bakery and its specialties have become 
20integral to many local weddings, holidays, and neighborhood

1celebrations; therefore, be it
  
 
2    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
3HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
4we congratulate Palermo Bakery and its owners on its 20th 
5anniversary, thank them for their work in the community, and 
6wish them many more successful years; and be it further
  
 
7    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
8presented to Palermo Bakery as a symbol of our respect and 
9esteem.
