HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate the Althoff Catholic High 
4School girls track and field team, the Crusaders,  on winning 
5the 2021 Class 1A state championship; and
 
6    WHEREAS, The Crusaders edged past Winnebago High School 
7for first place with 50 team points; and
  
 
  
8    WHEREAS, This is the first state team championship in 
9program history; and
  
 

  
10    WHEREAS, The Crusaders won the title without any 
11individual champions, which is the first time that has 
12happened in Class 1A since 2009; and
 
13    WHEREAS, The Crusaders are Emily M. Cange, Gloriya S. 
14Chernakova, Caitlin Elizabeth Conrad, Anaya Nicole Davis, Azia 
15Nyree Douglas, Dayzia J. Garrett, La'Niya Janae Linda Gordon, 
16Anna Maria Harla, Dariona Heavens, Kennadi Lauren Hebel, 
17Isabelle Nicole Holas, Kristina Jade Leatherman, Alaina 
18Camille Lester, Eris Irene Nelson, Nariah Izola Parks, and 
19Kiersten Reese Scheibel and are coached by Head Coach Mike 
20Sanders, Assistant Coach Adnan Al-Amani, Assistant Coach Tamya 
21Dixon, and Throwing Coach Jordan Cameron; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
2HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
3we congratulate the Althoff Catholic High School girls track 
4and field team, the Crusaders, on winning the 2021 Class 1A 
5state championship, commend their team effort, and wish them 
6many more successful seasons; and be it further
  
 
7    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
8presented to the Crusaders team and Coach Michael Sanders as a 
9symbol of our respect and esteem.
