HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate the Plainfield East High 
4School baseball team, the  Bengals, on winning the 2021 
5Illinois High School Association Class 4A State Championship; 
6and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, The Bengals entered the 2021 playoffs with 12 
8wins and 15 losses and were seeded 13th as they entered 
9regionals; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, The Bengals won seven consecutive playoff games, 
11working hard to make it to the championship game in Joliet in 
12June 2021; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, The Bengals defeated Lake Park High School in a 
14thrilling game by a score of six runs to five; and
 
15    WHEREAS, The 22 members of the Bengals, their head coach, 
16and their assistant coaches are  examples of what hard work and 
17determination can achieve; and
 
18    WHEREAS, With the eyes of their hometown watching with 
19pride, the Bengals worked their way from the 13th seed to state 
20champions, earning a well-deserved victory; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
2HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
3we congratulate the Plainfield East High School baseball team, 
4the  Bengals, on winning the 2021 Illinois High School 
5Association Class 4A State Championship; and be it further
 
6    RESOLVED, That we congratulate the Bengals, their coaches, 
7and their families on an inspiring end to their season and wish 
8them the best in their future endeavors; and be it further
  
 
9    RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be 
10presented to Head Coach Adam O'Reel, Assistant Coaches Ken 
11Holowczak, Luke Collins, Sean Chamberlain, William Murphy, 
12Bobby Stevens, and Jim Knytych, and all members of the 
13Bengals.
