HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate James Schaefer on the 
4occasion of his retirement from the Twentieth Judicial Circuit 
5Court Services and Probation Department after 21 years of 
6service; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, James Schaefer served the Twentieth Judicial 
8Circuit Court from August 12, 2001 to July 1, 2021; he held the 
9positions of Transportation Officer, Correctional Officer, 
10Shift Supervisor, Case Management Supervisor of the Halfway 
11Back Program (Juvenile Detention Center), and Probation 
12Officer (DOC Re-Entry Program, Intake Officer, and Pre-Trial 
13Officer); and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, James Schaefer has received numerous awards 
15throughout his  career, including the Illinois Probation 
16Notorious Award; he is a lifetime board member of the Khoury 
17League; and
  
 
  
18    WHEREAS, James Schaefer has been married to Kathy for 41 
19years; they have two children, Chris and Scott, and five 
20grandchildren, Kellen, Conner, Audrey, Sloane, and Sonny; and
  
 
21    WHEREAS, James Schaefer's volunteerism includes working

1with the Belleville Khoury League and time spent as a high 
2school baseball umpire and high school football referee; he 
3grew up playing sports and enjoys playing men's senior 
4baseball, golf, and pickleball; he is also a food connoisseur; 
5therefore, be it
  
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
7HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
8we congratulate James Schaefer on his retirement from the 
9Twentieth Judicial Circuit Court Services and Probation 
10Department after 21 years of service; and be it further
  
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
12presented to James Schaefer as a symbol of our respect and 
13esteem.
