HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate Duffy Jack Karstrom on 
4the occasion of achieving the coveted rank of Eagle Scout on 
5December 5, 2020; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, Duffy Karstrom is a member of Boy Scout Troop 342 
7of Homewood; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, As a young boy, Duffy Karstrom became involved 
9with Wreaths Across America; he was dedicated to seeing that 
10those who have sacrificed for our nation be remembered and 
11honored not only on Memorial Day but also during the holidays; 
12he has continued his commitment to the members of our armed 
13forces; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Duffy Karstrom was enrolled in both the 
15engineering curriculum and baccalaureate curriculum while 
16attending Homewood Flossmoor High School, where he was a 
17member of the National Honor Society and the high school 
18soccer team while remaining an active member of both his 
19church and Boy Scout Troop; he has also published two 
20children's books; and
  
 
21    WHEREAS, Duffy Karstrom has become a fine young man who is

1kind, trustworthy, creative, dedicated, curious, passionate, 
2driven, and intelligent; he is a natural leader of his peers 
3and a very effective mentor to younger  children, and he 
4embodies the Boy Scout Oath; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Duffy Karstrom is a resident of Flossmoor and is 
6currently attending Michigan Technological University; 
7therefore, be it
  
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
9HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
10we congratulate Duffy Jack Karstrom on achieving the coveted 
11rank of Eagle Scout and wish him continued success in his 
12future endeavors; and be it further
  
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
14presented to Duffy Karstrom as an expression of our esteem and 
15respect.
