| 2 | WHEREAS, The 2021-2022 school year marks the 50th | ||||||
| 3 | anniversary of the Illinois Principals Association, an | ||||||
| 4 | organization with the mission to develop, support, and | ||||||
| 5 | advocate for innovative educational leaders; and
| ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, The Illinois Principals Association was formed by | ||||||
| 7 | joining the Illinois Elementary School Principals Association, | ||||||
| 8 | the Illinois Junior High School Principals Association, and | ||||||
| 9 | the Illinois Secondary School Principals Association into one | ||||||
| 10 | organization through formal ratification with 202 charter | ||||||
| 11 | members in fall 1971; and
| ||||||
| 12 | WHEREAS, The State of Illinois officially recognized the | ||||||
| 13 | Illinois Principals Association as a certified educational | ||||||
| 14 | organization serving principals, assistant principals, and | ||||||
| 15 | other school building leaders in January 1972; and
| ||||||
| 16 | WHEREAS, The current officers of the Illinois Principals | ||||||
| 17 | Association include Dr. Marcus Belin, Principal of Huntley | ||||||
| 18 | High School, President; Raul Gaston, Principal of Jefferson | ||||||
| 19 | Middle School, President-Elect; Dr. Amy Dixon, Principal of | ||||||
| 20 | Lincoln and Jefferson Attendance Centers, Immediate | ||||||
| 21 | Past-President; Craig Beals, Principal of Nuttall Middle | ||||||
| 22 | School, Treasurer; and Mandy Ellis, Principal of Dunlap Grade | ||||||

| 1 | School, Secretary; and
| ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, The Illinois Principals Association believes in | ||||||
| 3 | ensuring effective, sustained educational leaders for every | ||||||
| 4 | Illinois school community; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, For the past 50 years, the Illinois Principals | ||||||
| 6 | Association has supported principals, assistant principals, | ||||||
| 7 | and other school leaders with high-quality professional | ||||||
| 8 | learning opportunities, both in-person and virtual, mentoring | ||||||
| 9 | and coaching, opportunities to build community with peers, | ||||||
| 10 | legal support, and advocacy at both the state and federal | ||||||
| 11 | level; and
| ||||||
| 12 | WHEREAS, The Illinois Principals Association now serves | ||||||
| 13 | over 6,100 principals, assistant principals, and other school | ||||||
| 14 | leaders throughout Illinois; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 15 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
| 16 | HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 17 | we recognize the Illinois Principals Association on its 50th | ||||||
| 18 | anniversary, and we thank the organization for its work in | ||||||
| 19 | supporting school leaders throughout the State of Illinois; | ||||||
| 20 | and be it further
| ||||||
| 21 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||

| 1 | presented to the Illinois Principals Association as an | ||||||
| 2 | expression of our respect and esteem.
