HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate the Kenwood Academy High 
4School football team, the Broncos, on winning the 2021 Chicago 
5Public League City Championship; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, The Broncos defeated Simeon Career Academy 25 to 
77 at Lane Stadium in Roscoe Village  on November 20, 2021; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, The Broncos were thrilled with the victory over 
9Simeon after suffering a defeat by Simeon in the last regular 
10season game; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, This is the Broncos' first Public League 
12championship and only their second appearance in the final; 
13and
 
14    WHEREAS, Kenwood Academy is  a four-year high school with 
15an academic center for gifted students that starts in the 7th 
16grade; it is located on the south side of Chicago in the 
17community of Hyde Park and serves students who live in the 
18Kenwood/Hyde Park areas, as well as those from surrounding 
19neighborhoods; therefore, be it
  
 

  
20    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE

1HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
2we congratulate the Kenwood Academy High School football team, 
3the Broncos, on winning the 2021 Chicago Public League City 
4Championship, and we wish them many more successful seasons; 
5and be it further
  
 
6    RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be 
7presented to the Broncos' players and coaches as a symbol of 
8our respect and esteem.
