| 1 | HOUSE RESOLUTION

| 2 | WHEREAS, The State of Illinois is enriched by its many | ||||||
| 3 | residents who contribute to
the fabric of Illinois society | ||||||
| 4 | through their life experience; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Pauline Rose Hafemen Nardulli will celebrate her | ||||||
| 6 | 100th birthday on February 4,
2022; and
| ||||||
| 7 | WHEREAS, Pauline Nardulli was
born in Antigo, Wisconsin on | ||||||
| 8 | February 4, 1922 and lived there until June 1940, at which
time | ||||||
| 9 | she moved to Chicago in order to attend the American School of | ||||||
| 10 | Nursing; and | ||||||
| 11 | WHEREAS, Pauline Nardulli has continuously resided in | ||||||
| 12 | Illinois for a period in excess
of 80 years; and | ||||||
| 13 | WHEREAS, Pauline Nardulli served her community as a | ||||||
| 14 | registered nurse until her
retirement from St. Anne's Hospital | ||||||
| 15 | in Chicago in 1990, where she served as head nurse in
several | ||||||
| 16 | different departments, including Orthopedics and Emergency | ||||||
| 17 | Services; and | ||||||
| 18 | WHEREAS, Pauline Nardulli met Frank Nardulli on a swing | ||||||
| 19 | set in Lafollette Park on
the west side of Chicago before World | ||||||
| 20 | War II and waited for him while he served in the U.S. Navy in
| ||||||
| |||||||
| |||||||
| 1 | the Pacific Theater; and | ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, Pauline Nardulli married Frank Nardulli on July | ||||||
| 3 | 30, 1949 and remained
happily married to him until his | ||||||
| 4 | untimely death in 1976; and | ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Pauline Nardulli has been a faithful member of | ||||||
| 6 | St. Paul Lutheran Church
located on the west side of Chicago | ||||||
| 7 | for a period in excess of 80 years; and | ||||||
| 8 | WHEREAS, Pauline and Frank Nardulli raised five children, | ||||||
| 9 | including Steven (Joyce),
Debbie (Richard), Phil (Mary), Jim | ||||||
| 10 | (Jamie), and Denise; and
| ||||||
| 11 | WHEREAS, Pauline Nardulli has been blessed with 13 | ||||||
| 12 | grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; and
| ||||||
| 13 | WHEREAS, Pauline Nardulli currently resides in Ottawa with | ||||||
| 14 | her son, Philip; and
| ||||||
| 15 | WHEREAS, The State of Illinois has benefited from the many | ||||||
| 16 | family, church, social and
employment contributions made by | ||||||
| 17 | Pauline Nardulli and is a much better place because of her
| ||||||
| 18 | contributions; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 19 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||

| 1 | HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 2 | we congratulate Pauline Nardulli on the occasion of her 100th | ||||||
| 3 | birthday and thank her for her contributions and service
to | ||||||
| 4 | her family and her community; and be it further
| ||||||
| 5 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 6 | presented to Pauline Nardulli as a
symbol of our respect and | ||||||
| 7 | esteem.
