| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 | | Representatives learned with great sadness of the shooting of |
| 4 | | Officer Tyler J. Bailey of the Bradley Police Department, who |
| 5 | | was shot in the line of duty on December 29, 2021 and remains |
| 6 | | in critical condition; and
|
| 7 | | WHEREAS, Officer Bailey was born in Kankakee on May 7, |
| 8 | | 1994; he is the son of Darin Bailey and Danielle Hess; he |
| 9 | | married his wife, Sydney, in October 2021; he is one of six |
| 10 | | children and has three step-siblings; and
|
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Officer Bailey received his bachelor's degree in |
| 12 | | Criminal Justice from Illinois State University; from there, |
| 13 | | he began his journey to become a police officer; he attended |
| 14 | | the Southwestern Illinois College Police Academy, where his |
| 15 | | drive to be a morally and ethically sound officer grew; and
|
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Officer Bailey is known for being passionate |
| 17 | | about his role in law enforcement and wanting to help his |
| 18 | | community; and
|
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Outside of his career, Officer Bailey is a dog |
| 20 | | dad, an avid hunter and fisherman, a dedicated White Sox fan, a |
| 21 | | NASCAR enthusiast, and a quality husband, son, grandson, |
