HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to recognize the contributions Robert 
4Terrell "Terry" Cummings has made to Illinois basketball; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Terry Cummings was born in Chicago on March 15, 
61961; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, Terry Cummings attended Carver High School in 
8Chicago; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Terry Cummings attended DePaul University in 
10Chicago, playing 85 games for the Blue Demons and earning the 
11honor of being a consensus first-team All-American in 1982; 
12and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, Terry Cummings was drafted second overall in the 
141982 NBA draft by the San Diego Clippers; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, Terry Cummings played in the NBA for 18 seasons; 
16during his first season, he was named the 1983 NBA Rookie of 
17the Year and earned NBA All-Rookie First Team Honors; over the 
18course of his career, he was named an NBA All-Star twice, to 
19the All-NBA Second Team in 1985, and to the All-NBA Third Team 
20in 1989; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
2HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
3we recognize Robert Terrell "Terry" Cummings for his  
4achievements and  for the contributions he has made to 
5basketball in Illinois; and be it further
  
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
7presented to Terry Cummings as an expression of our esteem and 
8respect.
