HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate Aunt Martha's Health and 
4Wellness on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of its 
5founding; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, Aunt Martha's was founded in 1972 and since then 
7has been a place where communities come together and support 
8one another; 50 years later, it continues to be a place for 
9people to come together and be a part of a vision ensuring that 
10everyone has access to high quality health and wellness care, 
11leading to better social and emotional health; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS,  Today, Aunt Martha's is the third largest 
13community health center in Illinois; it has had more than 1.5 
14million visitors since 2001 and is the largest provider of 
15dental and behavioral services among community health centers 
16in Illinois; it  serves three and a half times as many uninsured 
17patients as the average community health center in Illinois; 
18and
  
 
19    WHEREAS, Aunt Martha's has helped 2,000 abused and 
20neglected children receive shelter, health care, and care 
21coordination services
and is Illinois' largest provider of 
22services to families in crisis; and

1    WHEREAS, Aunt Martha's outreach services has connected 
23,000 homeless children, youth,  and adults to shelter, health 
3care, employment training, and independent  living programs, 
4and  1,200 preschool, elementary, and high school children have 
5received education and community-based services; more than 
63,000 people have completed employment programs and have 
7gotten jobs in their home communities; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, After 50 years of service, Aunt Martha's is just 
9getting started; therefore, be it
  
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
11HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
12we congratulate Aunt Martha's Health and Wellness on its 50th 
13anniversary, and we wish it many more successful years; and be 
14it further
  
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
16presented to Aunt Martha's as a symbol of our respect and 
17esteem.
