HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate the Mt. Carmel Kiwanis 
4Club on their 100th Anniversary; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, The Mt. Carmel Kiwanis Club was founded on July 
614, 1922; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, The local Mt. Carmel Kiwanis Chapter is 
8continuously helping their community and working toward a 
9better tomorrow for the children of Wabash County; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, Each year, the Mt. Carmel Kiwanis donate funds to 
11benefit sports programs and education within their district; 
12and
  
 
  
13    WHEREAS, The Mt. Carmel Kiwanis raised over $100,000 for 
14the animal shelter and also donated their time and manpower to 
15help build it; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, The Mt. Carmel Kiwanis are known for helping with 
17other building projects in the area, including building 
18shelter houses in the local city park and completing 
19renovations needed along the way; and

1    WHEREAS, The Mt. Carmel Kiwanis host a few fundraisers 
2each year to raise money for various projects, including 
3Pancake Day, which was founded in 1925 and is  an 
4all-you-can-eat pancake dinner in October of each year with 
5all proceeds  dedicated to community projects; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, The 100 year celebration of the Mt. Carmel 
7Kiwanis Club will be held on July 9, 2022 at the Mt. Carmel 
8City Park, and   the event will feature "The Kiwanis Krawl", 
9food trucks, and snow cones with all the proceeds going to the 
10park; therefore, be it
  
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
12HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
13we congratulate the Mt. Carmel Kiwanis Club on their 100th 
14anniversary; and be it further
  
 
15    RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be 
16presented to Mt. Carmel Kiwanis President Ryan Turner as a 
17symbol of our respect and esteem.
