HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate GC Corporation on the occasion of its 100th anniversary; and

WHEREAS, GC Corporation is a private, family-owned manufacturer of professional consumable dental and orthodontic products used by dentists, orthodontists, dental hygienists, and others around the world; and

WHEREAS, GC Corporation was founded in Tokyo in 1921; and

WHEREAS, GC Corporation has operated in the United States for four decades, with the majority of that time in Alsip; and

WHEREAS, GC Corporation has additional facilities in Mexico and Brazil, but the Alsip facility is its only U.S. location; and

WHEREAS, GC Corporation's dental and orthodontic products are sold across the United States, Canada, Mexico, and Latin America; and

WHEREAS, GC Corporation employs hundreds of women and men in good manufacturing jobs; and

WHEREAS, GC Corporation opened a new, $25 million headquarters in Alsip in 2019, which is a showcase of modern, Japanese-inspired architecture; and

WHEREAS, Due to the global pandemic, GC Corporation was required to delay its 100th anniversary celebration until 2022; and

WHEREAS, GC Corporation's centennial anniversary will be celebrated by Global Chairman Makoto Nakao and Mrs. Makiko Nakao, along with President Dr. Kiyotaka Nakao and Mrs. Ayako Nakao; and

WHEREAS, GC Corporation will host its 100th anniversary celebration and toast to a century of excellence in dentistry on May 10, 2022; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate GC Corporation on its 100th anniversary, and we wish the corporation continued success in the years to come; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to GC Corporation as an expression of our esteem and respect.
