| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 | | Representatives wish to recognize Khloé Tucker and her |
| 4 | | strength as she battles Choriocarcinoma; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, At the age of eight, Khloé Tucker, a sweet, kind, |
| 6 | | loving, shy, and gentle little girl, was diagnosed with |
| 7 | | Choriocarcinoma, a rare malignancy that arises from placental |
| 8 | | trophoblastic tissue, and underwent a major surgery on |
| 9 | | December 18, 2019 to remove a large tumor that ruptured in her |
| 10 | | abdomen; and
|
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Khloé Tucker then received chemotherapy for three |
| 12 | | months and went into remission; unfortunately, she relapsed on |
| 13 | | May 1, 2020 just as she had returned to school and was enjoying |
| 14 | | being a kid again; she received four additional months of |
| 15 | | stronger chemotherapy and was in remission for a year; she |
| 16 | | relapsed in July 2021 and underwent a 12 hour procedure and |
| 17 | | surgery to remove the tumor and try to kill all cancerous cells |
| 18 | | in her abdomen to prepare her for two stem cell transplants; |
| 19 | | later, more tumors were found and it was obvious the cancer had |
| 20 | | spread; now, as of January 2022, after 17 days in patient and |
| 21 | | post 10 days transplant, Khloé's cells have finally began to |
| 22 | | graft; and
