HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Rhonda 
4Smith Ferguson, who passed away on April 17, 2022; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Rhonda Ferguson was born in 1969; she earned her 
6Industrial Engineering degree from Northwestern University and 
7her Juris Doctor from Case Western Reserve University; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, Rhonda Ferguson lived a charmed life full of 
9love, laughter, adventure, and unimaginable success; she had 
10an incredible and highly accomplished career, meeting and 
11exceeding every professional goal she set for herself while 
12serving as a chief legal officer, corporate vice president, 
13philanthropic champion, and board member; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Rhonda Ferguson courageously battled cancer for 
15the past several years, winning multiple times and living her 
16life to its absolute fullest throughout; her life was unbound 
17with limitless opportunities to love, to mentor and be 
18mentored, and to experience and learn new things; and
  
 
19    WHEREAS, Rhonda Ferguson was an exemplary wife, mother, 
20daughter, and sister who was cherished by her family and 
21friends; she was unwaveringly committed to her family and

1immensely proud of and grateful for the beautiful life she 
2created with them; she was loved by a host of family and 
3friends; and
  
 
4    WHEREAS, Rhonda Ferguson was the beloved wife of Clayton; 
5the cherished daughter of Richard Sr. and Rhoda; the loving 
6mother of Kristen and Clayton; and the dear sister of Rita and 
7Ricky; therefore, be it
  
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
9HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
10we mourn the passing of Rhonda Smith Ferguson and extend our 
11sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew 
12and loved her; and be it further
  
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
14presented to the family of Rhonda Ferguson as an expression of 
15our deepest sympathy.
