| 1 | HOUSE RESOLUTION

| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives wish to congratulate Dorothy Meyer on the | ||||||
| 4 | occasion of her retirement and thank her for her service to St. | ||||||
| 5 | Clair County; and
| ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, Dorothy Meyer was born to Edward and Helen | ||||||
| 7 | Winkeler in Belleville on August 17, 1957; she married David | ||||||
| 8 | Meyer at St. Mary Catholic Church in Belleville on November | ||||||
| 9 | 26, 1976 and spent 29 loving years with him before his passing; | ||||||
| 10 | and
| ||||||
| 11 | WHEREAS, Dorothy Meyer is a proud and devoted mother to | ||||||
| 12 | her children, Chris and Lori, and to her daughter-in-law, | ||||||
| 13 | Jenny, and son-in-law, J Bryan; she is a terrific and | ||||||
| 14 | supportive "Cha Cha" to her two grandchildren, Tyler and Sam; | ||||||
| 15 | and
| ||||||
| 16 | WHEREAS, Dorothy Meyer worked at Memorial Hospital as a | ||||||
| 17 | public relations assistant for 18 years; she began her career | ||||||
| 18 | at St. Clair County in 2005 as liaison to the county board | ||||||
| 19 | chairman and eventually became the executive secretary to the | ||||||
| 20 | county board chairman in 2018; and
| ||||||
| 21 | WHEREAS, Dorothy Meyer has always been active in her | ||||||
| |||||||
| |||||||
| 1 | community; she served as an alderman for Ward 2 in Belleville | ||||||
| 2 | from 1997 to 2013 and volunteered at Art on the Square, | ||||||
| 3 | Oktoberfest, and the Chili Cook-Off; she is a member of the | ||||||
| 4 | Moose, the Greater Belleville Chamber of Commerce, and the CWV | ||||||
| 5 | Ladies Auxiliary; she is the director of the St. Clair County | ||||||
| 6 | Office on Aging; and
| ||||||
| 7 | WHEREAS, Dorothy Meyer has a contagious laugh and is | ||||||
| 8 | friendly to everyone she meets; she will be missed by her | ||||||
| 9 | co-workers, especially the fifth floor B wing; and | ||||||
| 10 | WHEREAS, Dorothy Meyer will now be able to spend her time | ||||||
| 11 | traveling, riding in her convertible, and enjoying every | ||||||
| 12 | minute of every day with her friends and family; therefore, be | ||||||
| 13 | it

| 14 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
| 15 | HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 16 | we congratulate Dorothy Meyer on her retirement, thank her for | ||||||
| 17 | her service to St. Clair County, and wish her the best in all | ||||||
| 18 | her future endeavors; and be it further
| ||||||
| 19 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 20 | presented to Dorothy Meyer as a symbol of our respect and | ||||||
| 21 | esteem.
