| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives wish |
| 3 | | to congratulate Keith Swartzentruber on his retirement as |
| 4 | | executive director of the Snyder Village after 34 years of |
| 5 | | dedicated work and nearly two decades as executive director; |
| 6 | | and
|
| 7 | | WHEREAS, Keith Swartzentruber was born and raised in |
| 8 | | Indianapolis by his parents, Melvin and Mary Swartzentruber, |
| 9 | | with his sisters, Lynette and Sheila; he and his family moved |
| 10 | | to Illinois in 1976; and |
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Keith Swartzentruber graduated Summa Cum Laude |
| 12 | | from Illinois State University, where he majored in |
| 13 | | organizational management and minored in business |
| 14 | | administration and speech communication; and
|
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Keith Swartzentruber began his career at Maple |
| 16 | | Lawn Homes, where he served in various roles, most notably as |
| 17 | | assistant administrator; he managed seven community-based |
| 18 | | senior service programs and was entrusted with evaluating |
| 19 | | staff performance and hiring; he developed and implemented |
| 20 | | seven community-based senior service programs and provided |
| 21 | | seminars and workshops on aging; he also wrote and co-authored |
| 22 | | successful government grants and foundation proposals; and
|

| 1 | | WHEREAS, In 1988, Keith Swartzentruber was involved in the |
| 2 | | creation of Snyder Village, a community-based nonprofit |
| 3 | | facility; he was entrusted with hiring of staff, budgeting, |
| 4 | | licensure, program development, marketing, sales, resident |
| 5 | | admissions, fund raising, and community relations; and
|
| 6 | | WHEREAS, Under Keith Swartzentruber's leadership, Snyder |
| 7 | | Village developed into a superior provider of services for |
| 8 | | seniors and a facility of choice for families in Central |
| 9 | | Illinois; and
|
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Keith Swartzentruber and his wife, Sandy, have |
| 11 | | three adult children, Tyler, Levi, and Allison, and seven |
| 12 | | grandchildren, Elijah, Devery, Geordie, Ron, Eliana, Vanek, |
| 13 | | and Ian; he is an active member of Germantown Hills Baptist |
| 14 | | Church; therefore, be it

| 15 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE |
| 16 | | HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
| 17 | | we congratulate Keith Swartzentruber on his retirement as |
| 18 | | executive director of the Snyder Village and recognize the |
| 19 | | important achievements and significant contributions he made |
| 20 | | for so many seniors through his leadership at Snyder Village, |
| 21 | | making it one of the premier senior nursing home facilities in |
| 22 | | Illinois; and be it further
