HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives
are pleased to congratulate Danny Picarella on 
4the occasion of  his retirement from the Village of Glen Carbon 
5after 24 years of service; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, Danny Picarella started with the Street 
7Department in April 1998,
where he aided in the operation and 
8maintenance of Glen Carbon's
roads and recreational parks; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Danny Picarella completed a continuing education 
10course at
Southern Illinois University Edwardsville in 2001, 
11enabling
him to gain the necessary certifications to transfer 
12to the Water Department, where he was then responsible for the 
13operation and maintenance of
90 miles of water mains, 85 miles 
14of sanitary sewer mains, and 29
lift pumping stations; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, Danny Picarella is a true public servant who has 
16also spent the past
decades meeting the needs of his 
17communities in various other positions in addition
to his work 
18within the Village of Glen Carbon, including working with
the 
19Glen Carbon Fire Department and serving as a trustee and the 
20highway commissioner of Edwardsville Township; and
  
 
21    WHEREAS, Danny Picarella has worked in every position to

1serve the community to
the best of his abilities, including 
2working to modernize, streamline, and
improve efficiency of 
3village and township processes; and
  
 
4    WHEREAS, Danny Picarella retired from the Water Department 
5of the
Village of Glen Carbon in August 2022, leaving behind a 
6legacy
of public service and devotion to his community; 
7therefore, be it
  
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
9HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
10we congratulate Danny Picarella on his retirement and
commend 
11his dedication and service to the residents of Glen Carbon
and 
12Edwardsville; and be it further
  
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be

14presented to Danny Picarella as a symbol of our esteem and

15respect.
