HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate the Russell Oil Company 
4on the occasion of its 50th anniversary; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, The Russell Oil Company is located on 200 East 
6Main Street in the Village of Galatia; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, The Russell Oil Company is owned by Leon and 
8Janet Russell, who have been serving the petroleum industry in 
9the Galatia community for more than 50 years; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, Leon and Janet Russell started their company with 
11one location in November 1971, with the couple living with 
12their four children in an apartment above the store  when they 
13first started their business; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, The Russell Oil Company has continued to expand 
15over the years; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, Today, the Russell Oil Company includes 14 
17convenience stores, two package stores, three hardware stores, 
18and two furniture stores in Illinois; therefore, be it
  
 
19    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE

1HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
2we congratulate Russell Oil Company on its 50th anniversary, 
3and we wish the company continued success; and be it further
  
 
4    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
5presented to Leon and Janet Russell as an expression of our 
6esteem and respect.
