| 1 | HOUSE RESOLUTION

| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives wish to congratulate our colleague, | ||||||
| 4 | Representative Seth Lewis, on his distinguished service to the | ||||||
| 5 | people of the State of Illinois; and
| ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, Rep. Lewis was elected to serve the 45th House | ||||||
| 7 | District, which includes the communities of Addison, Bartlett, | ||||||
| 8 | Bloomingdale, Carol Stream, Hanover Park, Itasca, Roselle, | ||||||
| 9 | West Chicago, and Wood Dale in DuPage and Cook Counties; and
| ||||||
| 10 | WHEREAS, Rep. Lewis' dedication to public service and | ||||||
| 11 | commitment to serving the people of Illinois is unmatched; as | ||||||
| 12 | a state legislator, he demonstrated his values through the | ||||||
| 13 | votes he cast to support business and a thriving economy, the | ||||||
| 14 | State's fiscal health, healthy environmental policy, and | ||||||
| 15 | greater education for our youngest residents; and
| ||||||
| 16 | WHEREAS, As an advocate for businesses across Illinois, | ||||||
| 17 | Rep. Lewis' votes in the House demonstrated his support for | ||||||
| 18 | the economy, job creators, and overall efforts to boost the | ||||||
| 19 | State's business climate; and
| ||||||
| 20 | WHEREAS, In his own legislative district, Rep. Lewis | ||||||
| 21 | tirelessly visited businesses to personally express his | ||||||

| 1 | support for their endeavors and their role as part of the | ||||||
| 2 | larger community; and
| ||||||
| 3 | WHEREAS, As a business owner himself, Rep. Lewis was able | ||||||
| 4 | to contribute a valuable perspective to the changes sought | ||||||
| 5 | through legislation to improve Illinois' business climate and | ||||||
| 6 | allow job creators to thrive; and
| ||||||
| 7 | WHEREAS, Believing that a balanced budget is best, Rep. | ||||||
| 8 | Lewis continued to back viable solutions to claw back unfunded | ||||||
| 9 | liabilities and right the State's fiscal ship; and
| ||||||
| 10 | WHEREAS, As an advocate for education, Rep. Lewis fiercely | ||||||
| 11 | supported policies to bolster local control in school | ||||||
| 12 | districts, provide support for teachers across the state, and | ||||||
| 13 | work to ensure every child had access to the best | ||||||
| 14 | opportunities possible; and
| ||||||
| 15 | WHEREAS, Rep. Lewis was at the forefront of environmental | ||||||
| 16 | policies that would prepare the State for success in the | ||||||
| 17 | future, and that work will continue to ensure Illinois is in | ||||||
| 18 | the best position for generations to come; and
| ||||||
| 19 | WHEREAS, Rep. Lewis will be a great asset as he moves | ||||||
| 20 | forward in his career to the Senate; he will continue to | ||||||
| 21 | represent the people of Illinois on a larger scale and be their | ||||||

| 2 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
| 3 | HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 4 | we wish to thank Rep. Seth Lewis for his years of dedicated | ||||||
| 5 | service as 45th District State Representative and wish him the | ||||||
| 6 | best in his future endeavors; and be it further
| ||||||
| 7 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 8 | presented to Rep. Lewis as an expression of our esteem and | ||||||
| 9 | respect.
