HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate
Jake Hamilton for 
4breaking the all-time career Sacred Heart-Griffin High School 
5scoring record in basketball
during the 2022-2023 season; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, Jake Hamilton, who plays the position of guard 
7and wears the number 3, helped
lead his team to the Illinois 
8High School Association Class 3A State Championship in his 
9junior year during the 2021-2022 season; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, Jake Hamilton is 6'3"  and 195 lbs and has had a 
11fantastic season; he has scored
an average of 18 points per 
12game with 2.7 assists per game; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, Jake Hamilton has been a part of the varsity team 
14all four years of his
playing career and has averaged 14.1 
15points per game in his career; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, Jake Hamilton broke the Sacred Heart-Griffin High 
17School all-time scoring record of 1,326 points that has
been 
18held since 1981 by Dick Schofield; and
  
 
19    WHEREAS, Jake Hamilton's record  is now over 1,327 points, 
20and that record will continue
to grow as he finishes out his

1final season as a senior in 2023; therefore, be it
  
 
2    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
3HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
4we congratulate
Jake Hamilton for breaking the all-time career 
5Sacred Heart-Griffin High School scoring record in basketball

6and recognize his  outstanding high school basketball career; 
7and be it further
  
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
9presented to Jake Hamilton as an
expression of our esteem and 
10respect.
