| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 | | Section 5. The Environmental Health Practitioner Licensing |
| 5 | | Act is amended by changing Section 16 as follows:
|
| 6 | | (225 ILCS 37/16)
|
| 7 | | (Section scheduled to be repealed on January 1, 2029)
|
| 8 | | Sec. 16. Exemptions. This Act does not prohibit or |
| 9 | | restrict any of the
the
following: |
| 10 | | (1) A person performing the functions and duties of an
|
| 11 | | environmental health practitioner under the general |
| 12 | | supervision
of a licensed
environmental health |
| 13 | | practitioner or licensed professional engineer if that
|
| 14 | | person (i) is not responsible for the administration or |
| 15 | | supervision of one
or more employees engaged in an |
| 16 | | environmental health program, (ii)
establishes a method of |
| 17 | | verbal communication with the licensed environmental
|
| 18 | | health practitioner or licensed professional engineer to |
| 19 | | whom they can refer
and report questions, problems, and |
| 20 | | emergency situations encountered in
environmental health |
| 21 | | practice, and (iii) has his or her written reports
|
| 22 | | reviewed monthly by a licensed environmental health |
| 23 | | practitioner or licensed
professional engineer.
