SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
5 ILCS 430/25-85

    Amends the State Officials and Employees Ethics Act. Provides that the quarterly report submitted by the Legislative Inspector General shall include, among other required information, the total number of founded reports (currently, complaints) forwarded to the Attorney General since the date of the last report.

1    AN ACT concerning government.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The State Officials and Employees Ethics Act is
5amended by changing Section 25-85 as follows:
 
6    (5 ILCS 430/25-85)
7    Sec. 25-85. Quarterly reports by the Legislative Inspector
8General. The Legislative Inspector General shall submit
9quarterly reports of claims within his or her jurisdiction
10filed with the Office of the Legislative Inspector General to
11the General Assembly and the Legislative Ethics Commission, on
12dates determined by the Legislative Ethics Commission,
13indicating:
14        (1) the total number of allegations received since the
15    date of the last report and the total number of
16    allegations received since the date of the last report by
17    category of claim;
18        (2) the total number of investigations initiated since
19    the date of the last report and the total number of
20    investigations initiated since the date of the last report
21    by category of claim;
22        (3) the total number of investigations concluded since
23    the date of the last report and the total number of

1    investigations concluded since the date of the last report
2    by category of claim;
3        (4) the total number of investigations pending as of
4    the reporting date and the total number of investigations
5    pending as of the reporting date by category of claim;
6        (5) the total number of founded reports complaints
7    forwarded to the Attorney General pursuant to subsection
8    (c) of Section 25-50 since the date of the last report;
9        (6) the total number of actions filed with the
10    Legislative Ethics Commission since the date of the last
11    report, the total number of actions pending before the
12    Legislative Ethics Commission as of the reporting date,
13    the total number of actions filed with the Legislative
14    Ethics Commission since the date of the last report by
15    category of claim, and the total number of actions pending
16    before the Legislative Ethics Commission as of the
17    reporting date by category of claim;
18        (7) the number of allegations referred to any law
19    enforcement agency since the date of the last report;
20        (8) the total number of allegations referred to
21    another investigatory body since the date of the last
22    report; and
23        (9) the cumulative number of each of the foregoing for
24    the current calendar year.
25    For the purposes of this Section, "category of claim"
26shall include discrimination claims, harassment claims, sexual

1harassment claims, retaliation claims, gift ban claims,
2prohibited political activity claims, revolving door
3prohibition claims, and other, miscellaneous, or
4uncharacterized claims.
5    The quarterly report shall be available on the website of
6the Legislative Inspector General.
