| 5 | | Act, but does not include violation of the Illinois Vehicle |
| 6 | | Code assessments except as provided in subsection (a-5)."; and

| 7 | | on page 3, immediately below line 22, by inserting the |
| 8 | | following:

| 9 | | "(a-5) In a county having a population of more than |
| 10 | | 3,000,000, "assessments" means any costs imposed on a criminal
|
| 11 | | defendant under Article 15 of the Criminal and Traffic
|
| 12 | | Assessment Act, including violation of the Illinois Vehicle |
| 13 | | Code assessments. This subsection is inoperative on and after |
| 14 | | July 1, 2024.".
