AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 693




2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 693, AS AMENDED, 
3in Section 5, in Sec. 3.85, by replacing the last sentence  of 
4paragraph (3) of subsection (b) with the following:


5        "The Department's standards and requirements with

6    respect to vehicle staffing for private, nonpublic local

7    government employers must allow for an alternative rural 
8    staffing models that include an EMR who drives an

9    ambulance with a licensed EMT, EMT-I, A-EMT, Paramedic, or

10    PHRN, as appropriate, in the patient compartment providing

11    care to the patient pursuant to protocols developed by the 
12    EMS Medical Director for an EMS System and must allow for 
13    an alternative rural staffing model for those vehicle 
14    service providers that serve a rural or semi-rural 
15    population of 10,000 or fewer inhabitants and exclusively 
16    uses volunteers, paid-on-call, or a combination thereof.";

1by inserting at the end of the bill the following:
 
2    "Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon 
3becoming law.".
