2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
4 | | Section 5. The Pawnbroker Regulation Act is amended by |
5 | | changing Section 11 as follows:
|
6 | | (205 ILCS 510/11) (from Ch. 17, par. 4661)

7 | | Sec. 11. Violations. Every person who knowingly violates |
8 | | the
the provisions of this
Act shall, for the first offense, be |
9 | | guilty of a Class C misdemeanor, and for
each
subsequent |
10 | | offense shall be guilty of a Class A misdemeanor, except that a
|
11 | | person who knowingly violates this Act by operating a pawnshop |
12 | | without a
license shall be guilty of a Class B misdemeanor for |
13 | | the first offense and
shall be guilty of a Class A misdemeanor |
14 | | for any subsequent offense. This Act shall not be
construed as |
15 | | to, in any wise, impair the power of cities or villages in
this |
16 | | State to license, tax, regulate
except as to fee amounts,

17 | | suppress, and prohibit pawnbrokers as
now provided by law. |
