| 1 | | AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 1405

| 2 | | AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 1405 on page 2, |
| 3 | | immediately below line 23, by inserting the following: |
| 4 | | "(a-10) Notwithstanding subsection (a), a skilled nursing |
| 5 | | home, extended care facility, or intermediate care facility |
| 6 | | may deny visitation of a resident or patient of the skilled |
| 7 | | nursing home, extended care facility, or intermediate care |
| 8 | | facility to an individual under this Act if specific facts |
| 9 | | demonstrate that the individual would endanger the physical |
| 10 | | health or safety of himself or herself or of a resident, |
| 11 | | patient, or health care worker of the skilled nursing home, |
| 12 | | extended care facility, or intermediate care facility. Any |
| 13 | | such denial shall be in writing and be provided to the |
| 14 | | individual and any resident or patient whom the individual is |
| 15 | | denied visitation of.".
