Amends the Animal Control Act. Provides that in order to humanely reduce the feral cat population in the State, the Department of Agriculture of the State of Illinois may provide guidance for operation of programs for trapping, neutering or spaying, vaccination and return or release of feral cats. Provides that no other State agency has any jurisdiction over feral cats.

2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

4 | | Section 5. The Animal Control Act is amended by adding |
5 | | Section 3.6 as follows: |
6 | | (510 ILCS 5/3.6 new) |
7 | | Sec. 3.6. Feral cat sterilization. In order to humanely |
8 | | reduce the feral cat population in the State, the Department |
9 | | may provide guidance for operation of programs for trapping, |
10 | | neutering or spaying, vaccination and return or release of |
11 | | feral cats. No other State agency has any jurisdiction over |
12 | | feral cats.
