Amends the Prevailing Wage Act. Provides that the electronic database of certified payrolls must be searchable by the general public no later than January 1, 2022. Requires personal identifying information to be redacted. Effective immediately.

1 | | AN ACT concerning employment.
|
2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
4 | | Section 5. The Prevailing Wage Act is amended by changing |
5 | | Section 5.1 as follows: |
6 | | (820 ILCS 130/5.1) |
7 | | Sec. 5.1. Electronic database. The Department shall |
8 | | develop and maintain an electronic database capable of |
9 | | accepting and retaining certified payrolls submitted under |
10 | | this Act no later than April 1, 2020. The database shall accept |
11 | | certified payroll forms provided by the Department that are |
12 | | fillable and designed to accept electronic signatures. The |
13 | | database shall be searchable by the general public, after the |
14 | | Department redacts the employee's address, telephone number, |
15 | | social security number, race, ethnicity, and gender, on the |
16 | | World Wide Web no later than January 1, 2022.
