Amends the Medical Practice Act of 1987. Provides that the Department of Financial and Professional Regulation shall publish on its website information concerning the process for requesting a rehearing and the process for restoring a license after the successful completion of a term of probation, suspension, or revocation of a license.

1 | | AN ACT concerning regulation.
|
2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
4 | | Section 5. The Medical Practice Act of 1987 is amended by |
5 | | changing Section 10 as follows:
|
6 | | (225 ILCS 60/10) (from Ch. 111, par. 4400-10)
|
7 | | (Section scheduled to be repealed on January 1, 2022)
|
8 | | Sec. 10. The Department shall:
|
9 | | (A) make rules for establishing reasonable minimum
|
10 | | standards of educational requirements to be observed by
|
11 | | medical, osteopathic and chiropractic colleges;
|
12 | | (B) effectuate the policy of the State of Illinois |
13 | | that the quality of
medical training is an appropriate |
14 | | concern in the recruiting, licensing,
credentialing and |
15 | | participation in residency programs of physicians.

16 | | However, it is inappropriate to discriminate against any |
17 | | physician because
of national origin or geographic |
18 | | location of medical education;
|
19 | | (B-5) publish on its website information concerning |
20 | | the process for requesting a rehearing under Section 40 |
21 | | and the process for restoring a license under Section 43 |
22 | | after the successful completion of a term of probation, |
23 | | suspension, or revocation of a license; and |
