Amends the Fish and Aquatic Life Code. Provides that it is unlawful for any person to take or attempt to take aquatic life by means of a pitchfork,
underwater spear gun, bow and arrow or bow and arrow device, including a sling shot bow, spear, or gig along, upon, across, or from any public right-of-way or highway in the State.

1 | | AN ACT concerning fish.
|
2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
4 | | Section 5. The Fish and Aquatic Life Code is amended by |
5 | | changing Section 10-110 as follows:
|
6 | | (515 ILCS 5/10-110) (from Ch. 56, par. 10-110)
|
7 | | Sec. 10-110. Taking carp, catfish, buffalo, suckers, gar, |
8 | | bowfin, shad, and drum. |
9 | | (a) Carp, catfish,
buffalo, suckers, gar, bowfin, shad, |
10 | | and drum may be taken by means of a pitchfork,
underwater spear |
11 | | gun, bow and arrow or bow and arrow device, including a sling |
12 | | shot bow, spear, or gig.
Each person taking fish by these means |
13 | | shall possess a valid sport fishing
license. Fish taken by |
14 | | these means shall not be sold or bartered except as authorized |
15 | | by the Department. The daily take, harvest limits, or |
16 | | additional species are subject to and set forth in |
17 | | administrative rule.

18 | | (b) It is unlawful for any person to take or attempt to |
19 | | take aquatic life as provided in subsection (a) along, upon, |
20 | | across, or from any public right-of-way or highway in this |
21 | | State. |
