| 2 | | AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 1945 on page 2, |
| 3 | | immediately below line 3, by inserting the following:

| 4 | | "(d) Notwithstanding any provision of this Section to the |
| 5 | | contrary, no person who as been convicted of a violent crime |
| 6 | | shall be eligible for the preference provided under this |
| 7 | | Section. For the purposes of this Section, "violent crime" has |
| 8 | | the same meaning as provided under Section 3 of the Rights of |
| 9 | | Crime Victims and Witnesses Act.".
