| 1 | | AN ACT concerning public aid.
|
| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 | | Section 5. The Illinois Public Aid Code is amended by |
| 5 | | adding Section 12-4.54 as follows:
|
| 6 | | (305 ILCS 5/12-4.54 new) |
| 7 | | Sec. 12-4.54. Community-based long-term services; |
| 8 | | application for federal funding. The Department of Healthcare |
| 9 | | and Family Services shall apply for all available federal |
| 10 | | funding to promote community inclusion and integration for |
| 11 | | persons with disabilities, regardless of age, and older adults |
| 12 | | so that those persons have the option to transition out of |
| 13 | | institutions and receive long-term care services and supports |
| 14 | | in the settings of their choice.

| 15 | | Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon |
| 16 | | becoming law.
