SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
Makes appropriations to the Law Enforcement Training Standards Board for grants to units of local government and Illinois public universities for costs associated with the “Fund the Police Act” for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2021.

AN ACT concerning appropriations.
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:
ARTICLE 1
Section 5. The sum of $100,000,000, or so much thereof as may be necessary, is appropriated from the Fund the Police Grant Fund to the Law Enforcement Training Standards Board for grants to units of local government and Illinois public universities for all costs related to the administration of the statutory provisions of the “Fund the Police Act.” Eligible costs and expenses may include, but are not limited to, hiring law enforcement officers, purchasing public safety equipment, and training law enforcement officers to prevent gang violence, motor vehicle theft, vehicular hijacking, or the sale of contraband, or other such purposes eligible for payment.
Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
becoming law.
