AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 3096 




2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 3096 by replacing 
3everything after the enacting clause with the following:


 
 
4    "Section 5. The Illinois Vehicle Code is amended  by adding 
5Section 6-101.5 as follows:
 
6    (625 ILCS 5/6-101.5 new)
7    Sec. 6-101.5. Digital driver's licenses. The Secretary of 
8State shall continue to monitor developments pertaining to 
9digital driver's licenses and shall deliver a report to the 
10General Assembly concerning these developments on or before 
11December 31, 2022. The report shall include, but not be 
12limited to: (1) advancements in technology standards necessary 
13for the implementation of a digital driver's license; (2) 
14production information on other states offering a digital 
15driver's license to qualified drivers in their jurisdictions; 
16and (3) advancements in the interoperability of digital

2    This Section is repealed on January 1, 2024.
 
 
3    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon 
4becoming law.".
